Cowboy Hats Made by Cowboys and Cowgirls
 | Cynthia Engelstad Wachter
Owner/ Manager. Having lived in the Jackson Hole area for more than 30 years, an avid horsewoman, pilot, mountain climber, skier and over all adventurer in addition to being a nationally recognized artist who was one of a handful approved by NASCAR to paint and sell images of NASCAR drivers and their cars, has provided Cynthia with the background and talent necessary to design custom western hats for the discerning customer. |
Greg Carpenter
Greg, a seasoned Hatter, has been making hats for Jackson Hole Hat Company for over 4 years and has become renowned for the quality of each custom hat.
Making a custom hat takes several days of dedication beginning by creating the base, setting beaver or rabbit fur around an oval block. He bakes it until it has formed into felt, then flattens the brim, cuts it to customer specifications, spends several hours sanding to get just the right texture and feel. The last steps include sewing in the sweat band, inserting the liner and sewing on the customer selected hat band and shaping the hat by hand and stem to get just the right shape and curl of the brim. Greg makes hats for outfitters and ranch hands who need durable hats, to customers who want hats adorned with rhinestones or custom logos. Whether designer or rugged, all are made to customer satisfaction. | |
